Located just above the picturesque town of Kinsale, the Carmelite Friary church is a place of worship, prayer and tranquillity. The Retreat and Spirituality Centre, which was officially opened in 2007, is an available resource to both the local Church and town community. The friary is an important element of the town’s identity and the Carmelites continue to serve in various ways.

The Carmelites first came to Kinsale in the 14^th century. A church has stood on the current site since 1735, although it has undergone various renovations and adaptations over the centuries. The beautiful depiction of the Scapular Vision in Caen stone and the stained-glass windows are notable features.
